Atullya Foundation has developed an application ‘Bachau’ which focuses on providing emergency assistance to individuals (person with disabilities) during and in post disaster situations. It provides simplified communication for individuals in uncertain circumstances to contact the first responders (Ambulance, Police, and Fire Brigade) as their numbers are registered there. The Bachau app has the option of calling and sending SMS to the first responder which may be helpful for person with disabilities. Atullya Foundation Pvt. Ltd. has successfully conducted a consultative workshop for “Accessible Guideline for Bachau Application”. This guideline has incorporated the feedback from persons with disabilities and we hope to ensure that the app will be accessible. In collaboration with Australian Award, we had organized a workshop program on March 31, 2022, at Hotel Hardik, Bagbazar Kathmandu.Mr Pallav Pant, Chairperson of Atullya Foundation Pvt. Ltd. chaired and mediated the program, and Ms Sahara Neupane, Project Officer of Atullya Foundation Pvt ltd, introduced the objectives of the program and welcomed the participants.

Mr. Pallav Pant, Chairperson of Atullya Foundation Pvt. Ltd. discussed about the app “Bachau” and how the app is inclusive for persons with hearing impairments. He demonstrated how the app can be used in the workshop. He discussed about the app and how it will assist persons with disabilities during crisis and disaster events.
Mr. Birendra Raj Pokharel, Chairpersons of ADRAD highlighted the need of text to speech in the app and how it was imperative for persons with visual impairments to use the app. He further added upon how the app can be improved for persons who are blind, colour blind, and partially blind.

- Update the app to add features like voice activations.
- Have location tracking services.
- Have an emergency panic signal button.
